I Love to Read

As I’m figuring out how to get this website up and running how I want it, I thought I’d post a little bit about me.

In addition to being a photographer of weddings and families here in Nashville, TN, I love to read.

My best friend Kim came to visit recently, and her daughter, Clara (pictured at right), also loves to read.  Her favorite books are Pinkalicious and Fancy Nancy.  I do have to admit, Fancy Nancy is pretty awesome, though I’ve never read Pinkalicious!

I, like Clara, have a hard time narrowing it down to just one.  I would say that I have several favorite series.  The Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon, Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (and yes, I did read the whole series before the hype!  )the Anne of Green Gables series by LM Montgomery, and the Mark of the Lion Series by Francine Rivers.

I think I have always loved to read. I can’t remember how young I started; my Mom could probably tell you.  I remember some early favorites being Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, Madelaine L’Engle, and Encyclopedia Brown.

And a confession – I even love to re-read books.  Both the Outlander and Anne series I have read probably 5-7 times (probably more for Anne!).

Even while driving I like to read!  Of course, I do books on c.d. then.     I often don’t care what I’m listening to as long as the reader is a good one.  One of my favorite books on c.d. is J.D. Robb’s In Death series.  The reader is really, really good.  I’ve also loved the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson.  Sure, it’s a young adult series, but it’s awesome!!

If you ever need suggestions on good books, just let me know!  And if you have any recommendations for me, I’d love to hear them.

So now, you know how I spend my time when I’m not doing family portraits…or children’s portraits…or wedding pictures!
